Algerian Astronomy Club visits SA PDF  | Print |  E-mail

The Muslim Judicial Council(SA) were honoured on Tuesday 27 July 2010 with the visit of a delegation from the Sirius Astronomy Association. The association was introduced to the MJC by resident astrologer Dr. Abdurrazak Ebrahim. The association is based in Algeria and endeavours to propagate the pursuance of knowledge in the field of Astronomy.

SUPERMARKETS STOP PROFITEERING AT EXPENSE OF COMMUNITY

The Muslim Judicial Council SA expresses its utter dismay and disappointment that certain major supermarket chains have capitalized on a definition interpretation error of the Liquor Act, 1989 and increased the sale of table wines to fortified alcohol since 10 June 2010. This unfortunate blind decision in pursuit of increased profit margins is devoid of any reflection of the devastating consequences of alcohol abuse and will certainly tarnish the image of family stores.

The Muslim Judicial Council has spoken out against the rumours of xenophobic threats, criticising the South African government. The president of the council, Moulana Ihsaan Hendricks said that the government and the South African Police Service are not doing enough to eradicate the fear that have been instilled in African migrants living in the townships.
