The MJC (SA) wishes to give the assurance to the South African Muslim consumer that all the imported chicken products used at the Rocklands poultry abattoir are sourced from bona fide MJC Halaal Trust approved importers and sufficient written proof is obtained from the suppliers.

The MJC, on the eve of the official closing of schools hereby wishes to encourage the community to take cognizance of the irresponsible and negative effects of the consumption of alcohol. These impacts on the safety of our roads, trauma meted out against our vulnerable (children & women), increase in violent behavior resulting in excessive costly pressures on the health industry and medical facilities. Taking responsibility for our actions by being cognizant of the rights of others during this festive season should form the essence of behavior of this civilized society. The season of giving has been tainted by reckless and careless attitudes which wreak havoc on others during the Christmas celebrations. |

 The Muslim Judicial Council SA (MJC) condemns the recent spate of killings and shocking violent acts perpetrated against women and children reported in the media. A recent study conducted by the University of South Africa’s Institute for Social and Health Sciences, revealed that more than 40% of men admitted to being physically violent towards their partners and each year an estimated 3.5 million people seek health care for non-fatal injuries, of which half are caused by violence.
