MJC and Awqaf South Africa Eidul Adha 2015 Qurbani Project - MJC Awqaf Eid 15 1 - MJC and Awqaf South Africa Eidul Adha 2015 Qurbani Project

The MJC partnered with Awqaf SA to once again provide much needed qurbani meat to our poor communities.

Making it happen

Awqaf SA representative Michaeel Collier approached the MJC to partner them for this worthy cause and areas and communities who were deserving were identified and approach to participate. MJC Secretary General, Ml. Abdul Khaliq Allie contacted members of the MJC Regional Councils who co-ordinated the various events for the days of Eid.

The Qurban

Twenty Bulls were donated by Awqaf SA  for this programme and bulls were slaughtered in various areas around Cape Town. Some communities that participated never before performed Qurban and it was a wonderful experience for them. With Capetonians accustomed to slaughtering sheep, viewing the slaughtering of a bull or cow was quite an experience for many.

Communities in need

All the programmes were well attended as the poor and needy from the various areas came out in numbers to witness the community qurban. Communities in Mitchells’ Plain, Mannenberg, Steenberg and Hazendal  were amongst those who participated in the programme.
