Our condolences and prays to the people of Turkey
The Muslim Judicial Council SA(MJC SA) conveys its condolences and heartfelt concern to the families who lost their loved ones during a suspected suicide blast which ripped through the Sultanahmet Square, Instanbul, Turkey, killing 10 people and injuring scores. We extend our deepest condolences and express our solidarity in pray to the Turkish people and the President, Tayyib Erdogan during this traumatic and tragic time.
This cowardly act which has traumatized, wounded and taken the lives of Turkish citizens and tourists visiting the beautiful and historic precints surrounding the Blue Mosque is condemned in the strongest sense.
Random and indiscriminate killings of this nature which results in the death of innocent people by a gang of faceless individuals can never be tolerated as a standard of human relations and one that we live by on this earth. It holds no basis in religion nor in any international human rights standards and cannot result in any form of good for humanity nor can it foster peace, establish stability, encourage dialogue towards improving relations.
We pray that the wounded will enjoy a speedy physical and emotional recovery from the trauma that they were subjected to during the attacks. Ameen.
