by webXtreme

The Muslim Judicial Council’s Women Forum (MJCWF) hosted a 3 part Parenting Workshop series for women, which was facilitated by Najmuniesa Soloman at the Netreg Masjid. The fully booked Sunday morning workshops which started on 11th September till 25th September was welcomed and valued by women from the Netreg, Bonteheuwel and Schaapkraal areas.

The workshops provided guidance, training and the tools needed to raise exemplary children in a challenging socio-economic environment. Many of the parents are challenged with children who exhibit behavioural problems which are symptomatic of abuse and trauma experienced. These youngsters, therefore, need special care and counseling in order to navigate them through their schooling career and their lives as adults.

Having recognised the continued demand and need for special training and support for the mothers and care-givers, the MJCWF will continue to provide similar educational, parenting and counseling workshops as necessary.
The qualifications, experience, compassion and desire to serve humanity are the values that drive the women representing the MJCWF. Special thanks to the principal of Roudah-Tur-RahmaanMadressah, MuallimaZareenaColbie for her commitment to the community, for identifying the needs and ensuring that the community is given the assistance and support needed.

This honourable group of sisters/mothers/leaders of the MJCWF is led by the Ameera, Sister Gadija Allie, DeputyAmeera – Muallima Fatima Abrahams and Secretary General – Sister MajidahEmandien.
