Education rooted in faith
The Al-Azhar Institute of Cape Town is a subsidiary educational institution of the MJC.
The school provides the Western Cape Education Department curriculum together with Islamic education and support provided by the Al-Azhar Egyptian Mission in South Africa.
History
The Institute was established in November 1994 through an agreement between the MJC and Al-Azhar University in Cairo, endorsed by the Provincial Government of the Western Cape. It opened on 1 January 1995 with 48 students and operates a primary and high school.
