Chaplaincy

The Chaplaincy provides Islamic spiritual leadership to Government Department members at home and on deployment to enhance their spiritual, ethical and human wholeness. In the case of the Correctional Services, they aim to rehabilitate the lives of offenders by enhancing their spirituality. Our Muslim Chaplains are faced with many daunting tasks, specifically in dealing with matters relating to religious freedom versus standard official regulations. The Chaplaincy Department links the MJC with various Government Departments, namely:

  • Correctional Services
  • South African Naval Forces (SANF)
  • South African Police Services (SAPS)
  • South African National Defence Force (SANDF)
  • South African Police Services (Kimberley)
