MJC (SA) honours Matric learners at Awards Ceremony

The Muslim Judicial Council (SA) in partnership with the Association of Muslim Schools (AMS) will be hosting an awards ceremony for the top achievers in Matric 2017 at The Venue Broadway on Friday, 19 January 2018.

The AMS nationally comprises of 68 primary and high schools as well as independent and state-aided schools.

“It is imperative that we acknowledge the achievements of learners in our Muslim schools,” said MJC President, Shaykh Irafaan Abrahams.

“Many of these top achievers are consistent in their Hafths studies but at the same time excel in the curriculum set out by the WCED,” Shaykh Abrahams continued.

Nine matric learners from each high school in the Western Cape will be recognized on Friday with the top achiever of the AMS obtaining a 90 percent aggregate.

In addition, the MJC will further honour learners in the General Education and Training (GET) and Further Education and Training (FET) phases.

“It takes commitment, hard work, determination and perseverance to achieve what these learners have achieved. We commend our future leaders for their accomplishments” Shaykh Abrahams said.

The nine learners coming from the following schools:

  1. Al-Azhar
  2. Darul Arqam
  3. Darul Islam Islamic High School
  4. Darun-Na’im Girls’ High School
  5. IQRA Academy
  6. Islamia High School
  7. Madrassatur Rajaa
  8. The Leadership College
  9. The Oracle Academy
