Posted on May 26, 2020
The Muslim Judicial Council (SA) welcomes the announcement made by President Ramaphosa for the structured reopening of places of worship. This comes after the President entertained proposals from the South African Inter Faith community requesting for the relaxation of regulations around places of worship.
The MJC continues to consult with medical professionals on the current developments in our province and how best to ensure the safety of our community. Cape Town remains the epicentre of the epidemic and will require of communities to proceed with absolute caution. It is therefore paramount that Masajid ensure that strict regulations are employed to ensure the safety of congregants.
The MJC urges the community to cooperate with their respective Masajid and to adhere to the general guidelines provided by government.
