Home Grown 5’s soccer tournament

The intent of the fives soccer tournament is to launch the Home-Grown initiative to create safe spaces for youth to express themselves in a fun and Islamic environment.
This was the first major event and the main objective of the event is to publicly launch the initiative to youth and those involved with youth. It attracted over 120 participants of 14 teams. Additionally, some family members’ of the participants attended which brought the number over 150 attendees at the event.

Time: 14:00 – 19:00
The 5’s Soccer Day programme was as follows:
14:00-14:15 – Intro
14:15-16:15 – Round Robins
16:15-17:00 – Asr, Naseeha and Meals
17:00-18:40 – Knockouts
Speakers
The speaker for the event was Moulana Saleem Peck who is involved in youth and physical activities, additionally a very vibrant personality to attract youth. Moulana spoke about the importance of physical activities and still having fun as a Muslim youth.
