“Verily to Allah we belong and unto Him is our return”
The Muslim Judicial Council (SA) is saddened by the news of the passing-on of ANC Deputy
Secretary General Yasmin “Jessie” Duarte.
We express our sincerest condolences to the family of comrade Duarte and pray that Almighty
Allah place contentment in their hearts and ease the pain of their loss.
Comrade Jessie never hesitated to provide her insight and perspective on political issues when
called upon by the MJC(SA). Her overwhelming support for the Palestinian cause served as an
inspiration to many Palestinians currently living under occupation.
May Almighty Allah accept the good that she has done in this world, forgive her sins and
shortcomings and grant her, and all other deceased from the Ummah of Islam, Jannatul Firdows,
Aamin.
